Hello! I do Tech work and I can help!

So you need to first put your iPhone in recovery mode. This allows iTunes to restore your iPhone before it showed that message. You can follow the instructions via the article below, but to make it easier on you, I will give you the relevant instructions below as I can see by the form post, you have an iPhone 8 running IOS 15

If you forgot your iPhone passcode - Apple Support

First off, you're going to need a Mac or PC with iTunes. You will need the iPhone's cable too. Assuming you have all of this, let's move on to the iPhone.

  1. Unplug your iPhone from the computer if it’s connected and Press and hold both the side button and the Volume down button until the power off slider appears.

Then we are going to put the iPhone in recovery mode. Since you have an iPhone 8, you are going to want to use the side button.

When you press and hold the correct button for your iPhone while immediately connecting your iPhone to the computer, don't let go of the button. Keep holding the button until you see the recovery mode screen on your iPhone, then let go

You'll know when the iPhone is in recovery mode when you see the screen below. If you see the passcode screen. You will need to turn off your iPhone and start again

Now we are going to head to the computer to restore the iPhone. Locate your iPhone in the Finder or in iTunes on the computer that it’s connected to. (Learn how to find your connected iPhone.) You should see this screen below:

Then choose Restore when you see the option to Restore or Update. Your computer downloads software for your iPhone and begins the restore process. If the download takes more than 15 minutes and your device exits the recovery mode screen, let the download finish, then turn off your iPhone and start again.

One recovery is all done, you can unplug your iPhone from the computer and set up and use your iPhone.
