Sidebar in the Finder

How the sidebar will go away in the finder?

I always hide it and whenever I open the Finder, it appears again?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.5

Hide toolbar hides sidebar Is this supposed to happen? I realized I almost never use the Finder window toolbar, so I thought I'd hide it. When I did the sidebar disappeared. I have to have the sidebar, but don't need the toolbar. Are the two supposed to linked together? Thanks very much.

Sidebar & toolbar not accessible Hey everyone on Finder app I do not have the possible to show the sidebar neither the toolbar ( apparently they are linked if I understood correctly what I read... but not sure to get the reason why they are linked), they are both greyed out. How to PERMANENTLY disable safari sidebar please?!?! Where is the option to remove the sidebar from appearing everytime I move or place my cursor on the left side of my screen? This is very annoying because its like this HUGE popup on the side of my screen everytime. There needs to be an option to change the placement or to PERMANENTLY disable this sidebar in safari settings. It is absolutely useless and annoying, PLEASE HELP. THANK YOU!

Oh yes! It worked!

View> Hide preview (it was preview that was bothering me not sidebar, Sorry!)

I was actually sliding it manually myself every time so it kept reappearing.

But it solved the problem, Thanks a lot!

Are you using View menu > Hide Sidebar to hide it (rather than sliding it closed)? If I hide it via the View menu, it doesn't reappear.
