Free trial wasn't free. They charged me for 1 yr subscription. Canceled sub. But cannot get thru to ask for a refund

How do I get a refund after I got a free trial app. They charged me for a whole year and I could've requested a week. I thought it was a free trial. App didn't work well so I immediately got rid of the app. Then is says I that I've been charged for a one year subscription and I canceled the subscription but I want the money that they charged me for an app I don't even have

Deleting an app does not cancel your trial subscription or your agreement to pay for a subscription when the trial ends.

This is the only correct way to cancel a trial subscription at least 1 day prior to the end of the trial.

You will need to ask Apple for a refund.
