MacBook Pro screen mirror freezes when sharing with TV

I just got the new Macbook Pro with the M1 chip. When I screen mirror from it to any of my Roku TV's, the image on the TV almost immediately freezes in place while my computer is still keeping up. Then about one minute later, the TV with catch up for a couple of seconds, then freeze again. What's up with that? I didn't have this issue with my older mac, and I don't have the issue when mirroring from my iphone or ipad.
