My Apple TV remove has been working for 3 years all of the sudden volume is working but not the rest of the buttons any ideas ?

Can some suggest a fix for my Apple TV remote. Volume buttons working rear have stopped working all of the sudden 🙈

Apple TV remote only working when plugged in Came back from vacation and thought our remote needed charging as it was not responding.
