Iphone 13 Pro Max doesn't care on QI wireless chargers with thin Apple cases or others...

So we have both a iPhone X and an iPhone 11 Pro Max that will both charge in my new 2023 Genesis GV80's built in wireless QI charging pad. My new iPhone 13 Pro Max will not charge in the same car with a case on. If I remove the case and spend 15 minutes moving it around a millimeter at a time it sometimes will lock on to charge. It behaves the same on a Mophie QI wireless pad in my home. It does charge on another unit in the house a Belkin Speaker with QI pad.

So, my troubleshooting has led me to a couple of conclusions. First the camera bump on the 13Pro Max is now creating enough of a gap between the phone and charge pad to render the feature useless. Also moving the magnets to accommodate the equally useless MagSafe charge device Apple probably developed after they found the camera bumps were gonna be trouble! This makes alignment very hard with third part QI wireless chargers as well!

I've found enough other posts online to know this indeed an issue sure to be ignored by Apples "your not holding it right" team of denial genius pros.

Has anyone come across a workaround that doesn't involve the usual "did you try resetting, lard, soft etc." I've tried all the usual suspects, nothing helps.

I also tried a Samsung S21 and S22 in my vehicle today while at a best buy. Both would charge with a case on.

Hi there, craigsipad2.

We know you've taken quite a few steps with your iPhone for this charging issue. If you haven't already, another step you can take is to ensure your iPhone is fully updated, to see if that may help as well since updates can include new features and issue fixes. You can check for an update in Settings > General > Software Update. If there is an available update, you'll want to backup before updating as seen in here: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

This article also shows how to update with a computer if that is your preferred method: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Please let us know if that helps or if you've already tried that step.

Take care.
