How to clean your iPhone charging port?

It is not uncommon to have debris such as pocket lint blocking the charger port. That being said, the charging port is pretty delicate, damaging any of the pins here may result in no charging at all. I generally recommend going to an apple store and asking them to clean it.

I’ve found that a tooth pic works well, and you can also use a SOFT bristled tooth brush or paint brush. Remember to be careful around the metal prongs,because if you damage those then it won’t charge. Once you finish then you can blow in the port.

If the charging port is damaged, your device probably needs service. Let your device charge for a half hour. If your device is still unresponsive, force restart your device: iPhone 8 or later and iPhone SE (2nd generation): Press and quickly release the volume up button.
