POWER SOURCE: POWER ADAPTER

IS IT normal THAT MY MAC SAYS THAT POWER SOURCE IS POWER ADAPTER while CHARGING?

I’ve never seen this before, everytime I charged my Mac (I have it for a year now), it would just show time until fully charged.

I've also read some articles that said the charger might be faulty. But wouldn't I had noticed it earlier?
