how do i stop apple tv trying to connect to homepod when i dont have one

A notification is constantly popping up on My Apple TV that says

‘unable to connect to HomePod. You can switch to tv speakers in settings’

when I click the settings button there is only one speaker option which is the tv speakers and is set as default. But it seems the Apple TV is still trying to connect to a HomePod because the notification will come up again. I don’t have a HomePod at all

can someone help with this?

Hi kaley e,

Do you share your Wi-Fi network with others? If so, it may be possible a neighbor has a HomePod that your Apple TV is attempting to connect to.

If you're unsure, changing your Wi-Fi password for your network would ensure that any devices that should not be on there are removed.

If that is not the case, does this problem persist if you restart the Apple TV?

Let us know and we'll continue from there.

Take care.
