Why am I getting UK magazines on Apple News when my region is USA?

My AppleNews+ subscription seems to only give me UK magazines, despite the fact that my AppleID is (and always has been) set to the USA. How can I get magazines that are relevant to me?

All the links in ads send me to UK versions of the websites, which tell me that they cannot ship to the US. Every item is listed in GBP not USD. All the stories are geared toward UK events and shops, rather than events and shops I can actually take advantage of.

(I'm not quite sure the advertisers would be so keen knowing their ads aren't going to actual potential customers.)

Hey lbg323,

We understand you're noticing UK magazines in News+ despite your region being set to the US. We'd be happy to help you out. While this could be normal, since UK magazines are still available while set to the US region, you should still see US magazines available too.

So that we can isolate things further, we'd suggest further ensuring both your Apple ID country/region is set to US and your language and region of your Mac is set to English (US). For help with doing so from your Mac, check out these steps:

  • "Open the Music app or iTunes.
  • In the menu bar at the top of the screen or the top of the iTunes window, click Account, then click View My Account.
  • Sign in with your Apple ID.
  • On the Account Information page, click Change Country or Region.

Mac showing the Account Information page.

  • Select your new country or region.
  • Review the Terms & Conditions, then click Agree. Click Agree again to confirm.
  • Enter your new payment information* and billing address, then click Continue."

All this information and more is available here: Change your Apple ID country or region - Apple Support

Next, to check your Mac's language and region settings, go to  > System Preferences > Language & Region and ensuring English (US) is selected along with United States for the region.

For more info, check out: Change the language your Mac uses - Apple Support

Lastly, if the issue persists, you can contact Apple for further support using this link: Get Support

We hope this helps out.

Take care!
