Clay4u,

To make sure we're on the same page, you're finding the entry point seems to have moved back and what you're currently typing appears in the middle of what you've already typed. Is that right?

This link covers something that might apply here: Type with the onscreen keyboard on iPhone - Apple Support

"Turn the onscreen keyboard into a trackpad

  1. Touch and hold the Space bar with one finger until the keyboard turns light gray.
  2. Move the insertion point by dragging around the keyboard.
  3. A note being edited after the keyboard has been turned into a trackpad. The keyboard is dimmed to show that it now works as a trackpad.
  4. To select text, touch and hold the keyboard with a second finger, then adjust the selection by moving the first finger around the keyboard."

Does the keyboard turn gray when this happens? Have you noticed if this happens just after you've pressed the Space bar? If so, this could be explained by the text above. If you press and hold the Space bar briefly, it will allow you to drag the insertion point and it could be accidentally moved to something you've typed before.

Let us know if that helps. Take care.
