MacBook Pro has a white transparent band on the screen

It's about two inches wide. Notice the different shades of blue in the image.

It does not show up if I screenshot the screen.

Any ideas for fixes?

Agree with @Smilin-Brian that it is a hardware issue since the problem is not visible in a screenshot. The Display Assembly will need to be replaced.
