Latency issue in Garageband

I suddenly experience a latency issue when recording guitar in Garageband. It all worked perfectly three days ago. What may cause this sudden latency issue (that wasn't there before) and how do I fix it?

GarageBand and the PreSonus Audiobox GO I'm trying to play my guitar through GarageBand. I just got the Presonus Audiobox GO. It works fine when I use their Studio One software. But when I use GarageBand, nothing comes through on channel 2. On channel 1, I get some faint crackling occasionally, it cuts in and out (mostly out), but I can hear that it's the guitar. What gives? Either channel works on Studio One, but I don't want to use Studio One. I want to use GarageBand. I tried reinstalling GarageBand, I made sure it was up-to-date, and I made sure it had mic permissions. Presonus says it's a software issue, not a hardware issue, so they can't help me. (Which is understandable.)
