Apple watch stuck on Thermometer sign and wont go

Apple watch has been stuck on Thermometer sign and was too hot.

Took the watch off my hand and kept it out for 24hrs. Tried powering on the watch with no luck as the thermometer sign still comes back on even though the watch is very cool. Tried to charge the watch with no luck as well. Any help is appreciated.
