Had this problem a few times. I searched Google for directions and could not find. I swiped the app up. Later I got to location and pulled up Apple Maps and pushed Home. Apple Maps started then at same time Google maps started talking and trying to take me back where I just left. Both were giving me different directions. How do I stop Google and Apple Maps from talking together?

You don’t understand, I opened Apple iOS map and set for home but Google started taking too. But thanks anyway.
The two maps apps are unrelated, and do not communicate.
By default…
If you’re using Google apps and request directions, you’ll get Google Maps.
If you’re using iOS or iPadOS apps or tools, you’ll get Apple Maps.
Contact Google support for assistance with misbehavior involving their app.
Or pick one mapping app and use that.

Contact Google Support. Or remove the Google apps, and see if the problem persists.
