Family sharing notification are not working

Ok, I've checked the notification center on my Mac and on my iPhone, and neither shows the request. Both are supported devices (as is my son's phone) I am signed into the correct Apple ID on my phone and the App Store on my Mac, and my family sharing settings are correct. Please advise!
