Fortunately, moving icons around on the phone doesn't have any effect on the data.
My initial question was about restoring my icalendar to my SE iphone. Someone from the community had earlier sent an easy solution. The question I have now is how to safely (without losing all my calendar data) put the calendar app back on my first screen where I access most of my apps.
You can set up a calendar widget on the Home Screen using the information in the article linked to above under "Related Article".
