It might be that the OS is corrupted or the HDD/SSD is. Try hardware diagnostics - Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac - Apple Support to rule out hardware issue. If no hardware issue, you can do About macOS Recovery on Intel-based Mac computers - Apple Support to reinstall OS.
