You can also set them to be the default audio , if you wish: Set up home theater audio with HomePod mini or HomePod and Apple TV 4K - Apple Support

Set up a HomePod stereo pair - Apple-support (SE)

Make a stereo pair of them and connect the pair of them to your Apple TV
