I had an XR iPhone and now have the 12 but I cannot get my watch to pair with it. It’s asking me to input my Apple password on the watch but I cannot get into the app to add the password
Any idea how I can do this

The XR has already been set back to factory settings so no longer shows my watch on the app, so, I have reset my watch and now waiting for it to come back on, then I will try to pair up with the 12

If it doesn't pair with your new phone then;
To unpair and erase watch and remove Activation Lock
From a web browser,sign in to iCloud.com with your Apple ID.
Go to Find iPhone.
Click All Devices at the top of the screen.
Click your Apple Watch.
Click Erase [device]. Select Next until the device is erased.
Click Remove from Account.
The reset has worked….thank you for your help and advice
