Lock screen wallpaper appears darker than the actual photo

For context I have an iPhone 11 pro on ios 15.5

I’ve noticed that my lock screen wallpaper is darker/dimmed even though on the home screen it’s normal. I don’t have the setting turned on that dims the wallpaper with dark mode and the photo is always dark regardless of my phone being in light mode or dark mode. I’ve also tried out multiple pictures and keep having this issue.
