You WILL have to erase it and set it up again. If you have your contacts backed up on another device, you can use that to restore.

If you don't have a [Mac or PC running Windows 8 or later] computer and you can't borrow one, you need to go to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for help.
