Cracked MacBook Air screen

Today I opened my MacBook Air purchased in 2020, and there was a crack in the screen. This occurred after no use and no single « accident » (someone stepping on it etc). It seems like a major flaw in the device and I’ve been reading about many other instances of this happening online as well as a lawsuit being filed. I feel I should not have to pay for the repairs.
