How do you charge an iPad without a charger (why because the charger my phone is using won’t work)

You have to use a charger for the iPad to charge. Unlike the newer iPhones, iPads don’t have wireless charging. If the charger isn’t working, I’d try using another charging cord/power brick.

Not really. I've charged an iPad with 5W "cube" that came with an iPhone. It will be slower though. With the iPad in shutdown, it will take a while before it will power on though. A more powerful power adapter will of course take less time before it gets to that point.
