Sending to gmail from a POP account

gmail requires you to use the google account-type setup, or the account will not be set up correctly:

I have tried deleting my POP and adding it back, no joy, to emphasise this is only when I try to send to a gmail, all others go ok and I can receive all including gmail.

If all gmail addresses fail, and only gmail, that suggest the problem is on the google side. Have you talk to them?
