Carplay thinks iPhone is iPod

I am using the most recent software update to iOS 15.5 and an iPhone 13.

Carplay uses USB only and thinks my phone is an iPod. I have reset the factory settings on my car and restarted my phone. There are no outstanding updates to the firmware available. I have also used different cables incase that was the issue.

I can’t seem to find a good answer to this online.
