Pages displaying fonts with question marks

I have only installed one extra font on my system, and pages is displaying it (and other fonts which I don't know which they are) as a box with question marks.

When I select the Montserrat font for example, the letter spacing also does not work. (see screenshots)

Pages missing fonts message: can it be turned off? Pages gives me 2 separate messages about missing fonts when I open work-related Word documents. Most of the time, I do not care about these fonts--I would be happy to see these documents in plain text with only table formatting preserved, because I just need to review the content. Pages does seem to be automatically converting to another font that works just fine for that, so I am not losing content by this. Can I tell Pages to stop cluttering my screen with these unneeded and repetitive messages, especially when it's the 10th document opened from the same sender with the same fonts missing within the same session? Question marks instead of fonts.... Help! I am getting square boxes with a question mark inside instead of the fonts all over in Ventura 13.3.1 Thanks for any solutions!

Fonts After periodically seeing rows of question marks in boxes appear in place of text on web pages and in some emails, I finally had time to try to fix it. When I went to Font Book, there were no fonts listed, zero. The file was last modified on January 1 at 3 a.m., and not by me. Can anybody please help?

Try Validating Montserrat. Font Book Menu > Validate, and

try File > Restore Standard Fonts.
