Keynote won’t play .mp4 or .mov files I’ve inserted

When I hit play the sound starts, then when picture should come in the program stops playback…but doesn’t crash.

it has worked in past.

all software up yo date.

new MacBook Pro.

Help!

Keynote crashes on startup Hey all, Keynote won't open any more without crashing within a second. I am running Big Sur 11.2.3 on a MacBook Air M1 from 2020. I also reinstalled it and removed all the settings, preferences and cache files I could find but it keeps crashing on startup! Any hints how to get it working again? My next presentation is in two hours and I start to panic! Thanks!

Keynote crashes I've recently upgraded my MacBook Air to macOS Monterey and I've started having problems with Keynote. It often (not always) crashes immediately after trying to open a presentation file or just when launching the app. I seem to have installed the last version of the app (11.2) and the OS is also fully updated (12.3.1) and it doesn't seem to be a problem with a specific file, since Keynote crashes upon trying to open any of the presentations I've build with the app in the las couple of years. Has anyone found similar problems? Is there any solution? This is really becoming a serious issue, because I am a teacher and I have a number of presentations that I have not been able to complete. Any recommendation will be of great help. Thanks!

try these tests|:

In a Finder window, play the movie file in QuickTime, does it play correctly?

Open a new blank Keynote project using the Blank, Slide Layout.

Add the movie file, does it play, if it does drag the slide onto the Keynote project you are having problems.
