How to unpair apple watch when it's not showing up as paired with old or new iPhone?

How do I unpair my apple watch when it's not showing up as paired with my old or new iPhone ? When I try to pair the watch it says I need to unpair it from my iPhone but its not showing up as paired. Neither iPhone has any watch paired to it. I wanted to keep the data activity thats stored on the watch if possible. TIA :)

Your activity data is stored on the phone not the watch;

To unpair and erase watch and remove Activation Lock

From a web browser,sign in to iCloud.com with your Apple ID.

Go to Find iPhone.

Click All Devices at the top of the screen.

Click your Apple Watch.

Click Erase [device]. Select Next until the device is erased.

Click Remove from Account.
