MacBook Pro won’t turn on

So my MacBook won’t turn on. The screen comes on, it gets to the Apple logo, then immediately shuts itself off. I’ve tried to boot it in safe mode by holding the shift key. That works, but the second I let go of the shift key, the computer shuts back down. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
