time machine not finishing backup

Time Machine stuck on Preparing Backup. How do I fix this?

Hi,


Is there a "Skip this backup" option available in the TM menu? If so, click it. Either way, after that, try booting into Safe Mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support and then normally again and try out TM again.
