iPad Air Switching off automatically battery image

I have an iPad Air 2 2014-2015 model. It switches off automatically and then it prompts for charger to be plugged in. Sometimes it starts up, other times not. When it starts up, it allows a bit of interactivity and then switches off again. I have erased the iPad and try to set it up as a new iPad. Still nothing works, even though when it does start up, it shows 100% battery level, but no joy.

That battery might be reaching (or already reached) the critical point of its life (exhausted).

Contact Apple Support directly (they have tools to run remote diagnostics, battery included), using this link:--> Get Support
