Built-in Keyboard and Trackpad Not Working

I have a 2017 MacBook Pro running the latest version of MacOS. Earlier today my trackpad and keyboard suddenly stopped working. Resetting the PRAM/SMC has not helped. Only an external mouse and keyboard works now.

What do I do?

This is a likely hardware problem.

One potential cause can be a swelling battery.
