With another trusted device already signed-on with the same AppleID.

Additionally ... if already so-configured, family members can ALSO see and locate each other's devices AND "Play a Sound" or "Mark as Lost."

Lastly, if you've shared your location w/ other friends they may be able to locate your device although they can't activate any of the "lost" functions.

Beyond those options ... you WILL need your AppleID credentials to locate your lost device by "technical means." (i.e. https://icloud.com/find )
