Is it possible to get a defective Apple Watch band replaced? Or do I have to purchase a new band?

I received an Apple watch. When I opened the package and tried to put on the black band it became clear that the band was defective. It would not fit/click into place because the little metal piece had fallen out, literally. I found it in the box. Is it possible to get a replacement or do I have to purchase a new band?

Make a Genius Bar at your nearest Apple Store, show them the band and see what they say.
