MacBook Air

I tried to install the Monterey on this MacBook Air 2015 early but once it appears that has been installed, it doesn't show on About This Mac section on also I'm trying to download iMovie and it is asking for a more actual version of MacOS

Run the installer from the Applications folder or the Dock.
