I can't update my Apple Watch Series 6 to watchOS 8.6

2. Tap My Watch, go to General > Software Update, then, if an update is available, tap Download and Install.

When I go to software update within the app, it say checking for update but never gets past this stage. Is this the same issue you’re having? I have Apple Watch SE I think, model no A2351

Thanks, but having the same issue on the watch. Just continues to check for update without getting anywhere. I wonder what would happen if I reinstalled the watch app on my phone?

How funny, seems to be available for download now. I guess maybe a poor connection until now? Thanks anyway.

Try to update from the watch itself.

Restart the watch.

Place the watch on the charger.

Make sure that your watch is connected to wifi.

On your watch, open the Settings app.

Tap General > Software Update.

Tap Install if a software update is available, then follow the onscreen instructions.
