Which system version do you have installed? MacOS 10.1 could not un on the Mac model "iMac Line (2012 and Later)" stated below your question.


iMovie is only available from the AppStore. The man tab of the AppStore, where you can purchase apps and download hem, will only offer the most recent version of an app. You can download older versions of an app, if you previously purchased them. Try to open your previous purchases (how to do that will depend on your system version) and then look for iMovie. Does it show in your purchases with a download arrow?
