How to view text messages on watch

I can’t view my text messages on my Apple Watch. I feel the vibration when a new message is received, but when I raise my wrist to view it there is nothing there except my Home Screen.

Preview messages on Apple Watch I recently bought a Series 6 Watch. Now, when I get a text message it shows up but I don't see the message. I have to tap the watch to read the message. Prior to this I was able to see the message just by turning my wrist. It worked this way for a while on my Series 6 but stopped recently. I have checked all the settings but I can't find anything that would change this.

Apple Watch text message I just purchased a Apple Watch SE. everything is set up and working except for text messages. My watch vibrates and it will show a text, but when I go into the messages to read it , it’s not there. My response text messages are there but the senders message is not there.
