Apple TV + 2 Home Pod Mini’s but I also want Audio from my tv speakers.

Is this frowned upon?

Try selecting the TV speakers as the default output and then select both the minis and the tv speaker as a combined output, worked for me (In Settings-> Video and Audio-> Audio Output)
