I'm trying to do some math for a college assignment and whenever I go to the website, the calculator disappears beneath the website and I have to go back and forth to copy the number, it's annoying and a little frustrating. I just wish there was a way to keep the calculator always on top or keep it on tab on the side. I tried the "Keep on right/left side" button but it still disappeared.

FWIW, PCalc in the App Store can "float" above all other windows. It's also the best third-party calculator IMO.

Keep the calculator on an unused part of your screen where it is always visible and only a mouse-click or cmd+tab selection away to use it. Since it will be in your Dock, a single click there will make it top-most over existing window occlusion.
You should be able to toggle back and forth between the two applications using command-tab. Or, click on the calculator icon in the dock.
