External Hard Drive has disappeared

I have two external drives connected to my iMac. As of this morning only one appears on my desk top. I have reset the smc as well as the pram with no results. I know the hard drive is ok as i have taken it and tried it on my other iMac.

iMac 27″, macOS 10.15

When doing a SMC reset all wired peripherals (EHDs, printers, scanners etc...) should be disconnected and you should do the SMC reset 2-3 times. Double check the cabling on the EHD in question and use a new cable and also don't forget to restart in Safe Mode and then re-introduce the EHD.
