Can I consolidate only some media into a project

I have a project which is using some very large video files I have stored on my Mac for various uses. When I create a project, I don't import those huge files as I don't want multiple copies of them, but things like small clips of stills, the odd sound FX, etc, would be useful to be stored within the project. Is it possible to consolidate the project so that everything, apart from the huge 30 minute pro res video files, are copied into it?

Mac mini 2018 or later

Not after the fact. If everything is external the roundabout way is to consolidate, go into the library bundle, remove the ProRes files, and then relink to them.

So you mean, delete them from the Final Cut project file bundle, then when I go to relink them change prefs to only link to files and not copy them in? Then all the files already in the bundle stay there, but the new relinked ones stay in their original folder and are not copied into the bundle. Is that right?
