MacBook Pro Battery at 1%

Every time when my MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2019) has been started the battery shows for example 51%. After a short time (about 30 seconds) the battery suddenly shows 1% and the warning that the battery will die soon and needs to be charged are popping up. It stays there for about 5 up to 10 minutes, than the battery shows the 51% from the beginning again.


What else can I do to figure out the problem?


MacOS latest version.

Batteries are considered Consumable Products. Over time it will degrade to a point where it needs to be replaced. The usage is normal as the capacity will go up and down all the time and never stay always at 100%. Apple Batteries are rated for 1000 Full Battery Cycles and / or 80% Capacity before needing Evaluation or replacement.


Yes Coconut Battery is reporting the Full Cycles on this battery is approaching the 1000 Full Cycles.


That and the Designed Capacity of 7336 mAh versus actual 6118 mAh.


This would be an indication the Battery needs to be evaluated IMHO

What is the current capacity of the battery? Apple advises it be replaced once capacity drops to 80%. Your battery may be failing even though it's a 2019. For more complete information on your battery, coconutBattery is a good safe app to use.


How does your Mac operate on the charger? If it runs as expected, I'd suspect battery issues.
