Store pictures on iCloud but not on iphone

I want to save many photos but keep only the best on my phone. Can I store my pictures on iCloud and not keep copies on iphone?

iPhone 7, iOS 14

Only if you disable iCloud sync on the phone; which you probably do not want to do.
