iPhone backup fails on Mac

Hi, my iPhone is not backing up to my Mac. I believe the backup starts, but after the pie chart completes.. it is not recognized as a backup. "Last backup on this Mac" remains as "unknown." Manage Backups list does not show it either! After every attempt, it ends the same way. Both my iPhone & Mac softwares are up to date and were restarted several times.

Please help!
