Cannot mirror my MacOS Screen to LG TV Airplay

Hi,

I'm having problems with mirroring or extending my Macbook Pro to LG webOS TV with Airplay. It works well with my iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone XS but not with my macbook. So I don't think there is a problem with the TV side.

TV: LG OLED 55" C1 with latest firmware

Macbook Pro 2019 Intel chipset with AMD Radeon Pro 5600M - macOS Monterey with latest firmware (12.3.1)

I can see name of the tv on the screen sharing menu, and when I click, macOS screen resolution changes and TV's screen also goes to blank black screen. After a couple of seconds, macOS shows a "Could not connect to.." error message.

What I've tried;

  • Unchecked the "Block all incoming connections"
  • Checked the "Automatically allow built-in software to receive incoming connections"
  • Restarted system by option+command+P+R to reset NVRAM and PRAM
  • Reset the LG TV's Airplay settings and obtained a new Airplay code

All tips will be appreciated!

Have you tried using other option, use as seperate dispaly?

I expect its trying to mirror the macs resolution and failing, using it as another display you can set resolution to the TVs
