Software Update won't begin after restarting several times I've restarted my MacBook Pro several times now, as instructed, to begin software update, and it won't update. How do I fix this?

Hi,

Try to boot in safe mode, then normal boot could solve the issue.

Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support

If it doesn't help, try to check your MacBook Air with Apple Diagnostics if it reports something hardware related error.
