new software instrument default to strings, WHY ?

When I add a new software instrument to a project it always defaults to strings and I can't navigate to the full library , even when I click on "All Sounds " in the library; or "refresh" library. How to overcome this please? (using Logic Pro 10.7.3 on a 2020 Macbook Air, M1). Many thanks

Logic Pro does not open the Sampletank 4 libraries Hi, I installed Sample Tank 4 in my Mac mini M1 and in standalone mode it works perfectly. When I open it in Logic Pro, I see the library icons but I can't see the sounds. Even redirecting the libraries doesn't load them. I always used this vst with Logic, for a month I bought a MacMini M1, and since then I can't use it. I have already contacted IK Multimedia, and even after their advice it doesn't change. I tried to use the vst with another sequencer and it works. Can you help me?

Instruments not available / visible in Logic Pro X Hi, I have a strange issue where no apple instruments are available or visible in the instruments drop down menu. it happened out of nowhere without any major changes or update preceding it. the instruments are there via a preset of. Handel strip setting but just not in the menu. I have tried trashing the cache file for instruments and also rescanning in plugin manager where they are visible. It happens even on a new arrange page and I also updated my computer from a 2019 iMac to a Mac studio running Monterey and the issue transferred. any ideas would be much appreciated as it is infuriating! Also if I had to reinstall logic would need to reinstall all my 3rd party plugins?

Thanks, that’s sorted it. I don’t think I changed that so suggest a follow up ticket to adjust the default configuration selection in the next SW release.

Hi there, that's probably the default software instrument patch set to load when you create a new track. You can change it in the new track dialogue box, like so:

I'd recommend setting it to "Empty Channel Strip" to avoid the behaviour you described above.
