when turning on my Macbook Air I want to eliminate the need to sign in with a password. I have tried through prefrences but no sucess

How do I eliminate the need to sign in to my MacBook Air every time on startup. I have followed the procedures in System Preferences without success.

MacBook Air (2020 or later)
